As mentioned elsewhere AMP's Elecrical Networks consultant, professor Michael O'Carroll,
was able to show that the figures the ESB used to 'justify' the use of an mammoth
and inappropiate transmission system was erronous. How did the ESB respond to this
complete undermining of their techinical assertions?

By completely moving the goal posts and saying oh well really the reason is we need such a
huge system of pylons is to take power from the region!

Even this blatent techinical falsehood was not enough to get the local communities the
transparent oral hearing they paid for.

Also the the Sligo County Council are looking into the matter of unorthorised
differences in the sub-station plans at Ballysummaghan.
